Jesus in the great commission said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20, NKJV.
Telling the world about the Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for our sins is important to God, therefore, it is important to us at Upper Helton Baptist Church. Outreach and Evangelism are at the very heart of our church. We are able to spread the gospel through outreach opportunities such as financial giving to local and international missions, offering a Vacation Bible School that is exciting and educational, as well as church sponsored outreach events that invite people to have a personal relationship with Christ.
Globally we take part in the Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon offerings to help our missionaries.
We also reach into our community through ongoing ministries such as our radio ministry called “Cross Connection”, Trunk or Treat on the square, Help & Hope, and our “Unto Him” Christmas project. Our children also take part in missions on a smaller scale. Jesus instructed us to “teach” all that we have been commanded, therefore, education has always been important to Upper Helton. Education and Outreach go hand in hand. As we teach Gods’ Word through Sunday School and Wednesday night Bible Study, we pass on the burden to reach souls for the kingdom.
